for a number of years now we have been working theoretically and in the field with architectural scale issues related to planarity, developability and discretization.

on a recent visit to Evolute GMBH (who have arguably the best minds in mathematics working on numeric solutions to architectural problems), i was pleased to be able to discuss some of these issues as they related to our architectural work, to evolute’s plugins and to computational or numerical analysis. on this visit i was also pleased to present completed work and ongoing research as well as a proposal for book that would be a small primer for architects.

it is tentatively titled “On the Quad and the Hypar: A Constructive Geometry Primer for Architects” and this is the first post in a series that will continue to update our progress on the manuscript proposal.
