association for computing manufacturing’s SIGgraph 2008 conference proceedings…

We were quite pleased to be invited by the Association of Computer Manufacturing – at SIGgraph 2008 in Los Angeles – to present the results of research revolving around a classical mathematical model collection, originally made by hand in plaster in the 1800′s. This work involved reverse engineering the models via the mathematical equations and re-producing them using contemporary rapid prototyping processes. The original collection was executed by Carl Rodenberg under the direction of Felix Klein, the founder of modern topology.

For more on this work please see other pages in the mathematical model category or contact us at universal joint.
